Hobart’s only mens a cappella competition quartet is developing an exciting repertoire of four-part close harmony songs, dedicated to those who love life and living it to the full.
Comprised of Rhett Knight (Bari), Graeme Bray (Lead), Ric Finlay (Tenor) and Paul Adams (Bass) the quartet members have varied experiences in other musical forms but love the camaraderie and musical purity of the Barbershop style that singing legend Deke Sharon calls "the Black belt of a cappella".
Formed in 2017, Forefathers' netted their first medal at the 2018 Barbershop Harmony Australia competition in Adelaide in September 2018, with a Bronze medal in the Senior Competition, and a credible 14th place in the Open Competition.
From heartfelt ballads to smooth swing, Forefathers will thrill you with the ringing chords and emotions that make this style so engaging.
Jacapari is a close harmony a cappella quartet and the first Hobart based mixed barbershop competition quartet. Traditionally, barbershop has been separated by gender and within Australia the promotion of mixed groups within the traditional structures is less than three years old. Formed in 2017 after a conversation between two of the members, and comprised of Jane Norris (Tenor), Catherine Fitzgerald (Lead), Paul Adams (Bass) and Ric Finlay (Baritone), the quartet all share a common love of a cappella harmony in the barbershop style and were keen to be involved in a mixed collaboration. Delivering heartfelt ballads and lively upbeat tunes that gladden the soul, let us take you on an emotional journey of love, life and happiness.
